Texas Matters: David Crabb On Growing Up Gay And Goth In San Antonio

davidcrabb-full.mp3
Unedited interview with David Crabb and Yvette Benavides

San Antonio nativeDavidCrabb is a performer, writer, teacher, and storyteller in New York City.  Crabb draws from his experiences in San Antonio for his memoir "Bad Kid." The teen years are difficult enough for anyone, but the transition from childhood is made more complicated by a loneliness that comes from keeping a painful secret.  And secrets are revealed in this sometimes poignant but always funny coming-of-age memoir called Bad Kid, which is about growing up (gay and goth) in Texas.

David Crabb will be at the Twig Book Shop in San Antonio  on Thursday, June 4 @ 7 pm.

Texas Public Radio's Yvette Benavides spoke with David Crabb.
