Sunday, April 19
6:13 p.m. — City crosses 1,000 mark with 1,015 total confirmed cases today
According to Mayor Ron Nirenberg, there have been 100 more recoveries since Friday, making the total 296 fully recovered patients.
The most recent death was an Hispanic man in his 70s with underlying health issues and a resident of the Southeast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. His death brings the total to 39 deaths. It was the 18th death from the center.
Nirenberg reminded that tomorrow marks the first day San Antonio will require citizens above the age of 10 to wear masks in public.
County Judge Nelson Wolff updated the total number of cases in Bexar County jail, which is 20 cases up from 15 yesterday.
Nirenberg asked that citizen comply with the mandatory mask rules and take seriously the importance of social distancing.
"What you're doing is saving lives. We're keeping people healthy," Nirenberg said after thanking citizens for doing their part by staying home.
The number of community spread cases and close contact cases are the leading cause of the spread.

Saturday, April 18
6:13 p.m. — 992 total confirmed cases
Mayor Ron Nirenberg announced that the number of fully recovered COVID-19 patients is 256, which accounts for a quarter of the cases in San Antonio.
There has been one new death, bringing the total number to 38.
Seventy-eight patients are in the hospital and 63 people are awaiting test results. Fourty-four patients are in the ICU and 24 on ventilators, the lowest number reported so far, according to Nirenberg.
County Judge Nelson Wolff explained the Spurs are stepping up to help citizens without internet on the East Side. Starting Monday, the AT&T Center will open up a parking lot for people to use for free wifi.
As for the Bexar County jail, there are no new positive cases, but seven people under investigation.
