Other local applicants include Kelley Kuenstler the current city manager for Leon Valley, a suburb of San Antonio and Celeste Brown, a district court judge for Bexar County. Brown recently lost a re-election campaign in November.

Michael Idrogo, a frequent candidate for mayor of San Antonio, and Nazarite Perez, a frequent speaker at the council’s citizens to be heard sessions are listed.

From Texas, city managers from Pearsall and Alice — Charles Jackson and Andy Joslin, respectively — have applied. Deputy and assistant city managers from Dallas, Corpus Christi, and Arlington are also seeking the top job.

The list includes high ranking city officials from New York City, Colorado, Pennsylvania,  Georgia, and other states as well as a Special Warfare Development Manager employed by the U.S. Air Force.

The vacancy of the city manager position was announced after Sculley announced her retirement in November.
