San Antonio's new Financial and Housing Recovery Center is up and running to assist residents impacted by COVID-19. The center can navigate local residents through the variety of local, state and federal benefits.

Department of Human Services spokesman Roland Martinez said the center makes it easier for people to get help.

“We know there are residents who have become unemployed, lost a lot of their work hours or have a business that is hurting badly," he said.

Martinez said there are key areas of assistance:

“Financial counseling, fair housing counseling, rent and mortgage assistance, pro bono legal representation for eviction cases, workforce assistance, homeless services counseling and small business recovery assistance."

He said residents can visit the center in-person for help with an advance appointment or can get assistance over the phone.

Get help online at covid19.sanantonio.gov or by calling 207-5910.
