Gordon Hartman Is On A Mission To Make San Antonio Accessible To Everyone

Gordon Hartman's vision is simple: inclusivity for all. Inspired by his daughter Morgan, Hartman is a vocal advocate and driving force in efforts to make San Antonio accessible to individuals with cognitive and physical special needs.

For the last 15 years, his foundation has provided millions of dollars in funding to organizations that help improve the lives of children and adults with special needs.

Hartman is behind the creation of two “ultra-accessible” theme parks -- Morgan’s Wonderland and Morgan’s Insipiration Island -- to be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. A new accessibility-focused sports complex is expected to open later this year, with equipment and activities fit for all levels of ability.

Hartman was honored by the Texas Governor's Committee on People With Disabilities in October 2019 for his efforts to promote inclusivity and accessibility in San Antonio and beyond.

What's being done to improve access to spaces and care for individuals with special needs in San Antonio? What progress has been made in these areas so far and what challenges still exist?

How is Hartman working within the community to improve the accessibility status quo and quality of life for people living with disabilities?

Guest: Gordon Hartman, founder of The Gordon Hartman Family Foundation
