Hunter Is A Space Pioneer

For nearly two decades, Hunter Waite was a pioneer. Every week he reviewed data from a place only he and his colleagues had ever been in human history.

Hunter is a principal investigator on the Cassini Mission which will explore Saturn until next week, when they crash it into the surface of the planet.

Along the way his tool --which is a sort of solar system sniffer -- helped discover many things. Saturn's moon Titan has 100x more oil, coal, and gas reserves than Earth and Enceadalus has underwater volcanoes that create the right conditions for life.

That's all a pretty big deal, but now -- 19 years after launch -- what comes next?

This story was told at the September 5, 2017 live Worth Repeating. This event was held at Brick at the Blue Star Art Complex
