President Trump is visiting North Texas Thursday. Before a 7 p.m. campaign rally at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, he'll start at a new Louis Vuitton facility in rural Johnson County, and then attend a fundraising lunch in Fort Worth.

Polls show Trump has been struggling in Texas, a traditionally Republican state.

He's expected to discuss jobs at his first stop, a ribbon cutting at the Louis Vuitton manufacturing workshop outside of Keene, about 30 miles south of Fort Worth.

The project promises 1,000 new jobs, but it spurred controversy over a 10-year, 75 percent tax break given to the luxury brand.

Former Texas Democratic Congressman Beto O'Rourke is planning a counter rally Thursday night. While Trump takes the stage at American Airlines Center, O’Rourke, one of the Democrats trying to unseat him, will be 15 miles west at The Theatre in Grand Prairie.

According to the Houston Chronicle this will be the president’s 12th visit to Texas since taking office. His son, Donald Jr., appeared in San Antonio Tuesday in what was billed as a preview to the president's Dallas rally.
