Central Texas Grand Jury Indicts Mother In Daughter’s Death

WACO — A McLennan County grand jury has indicted a woman on capital murder charges in the February death of her 2-year-old daughter.

The Waco Tribune-Herald reports 21-year-old Emily Ann Hudson was arrested after authorities were called to a residence, where they found a toddler unresponsive and suffering from life-threatening injuries. Officials say the girl was flown to a Temple hospital, where she later died of head and internal injuries.

A county sheriff’s official says Hudson told emergency responders at the scene that her daughter had fallen in the tub. But sheriff Parnell McNamara says Hudson later admitted to killing the child. It wasn’t immediately known if Hudson has an attorney.
