National Public Lands Day
Texas Public Radio is proud to participate in National Public Lands Day (NPLD), the nation's largest, single-day volunteer event for public lands.
For the past 11 years, Texas Public Radio has participated in this event, xeriscaping and restoring natural vegetation at parks, libraries and natural areas around the city.
As the hallmark of our yearly Focus on the Environment, National Public Lands Day projects serve to promote the beauty of our city’s public and natural spaces. The results have been several radical transformations of area parks and libraries through water-saving measures and the restoration of natural vegetation.
