A YouTube video that has gone viral shows Battleground Texas organizers making fun of Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott’s disability.
The video was released by the nonprofit group Project Veritas, whose mission according to it’s founder is to go undercover and investigate public figures because of neglect from the mainstream media.
The Project Veritas team secretly filmed Battleground Texas organizers at a Wendy Davis Gubernatorial watch party.

Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe said in this case his undercover videographer never signed contractual obligations with Battleground Texas, who are one of the groups supporting Democratic candidate for governor Wendy Davis.
"In some cases we are just attending these meetings and filming and some situations we just walk through the door and start recording we don’t even engage," O'Keefe said.
In a statement, Davis writes:
"The language used in this video about Greg Abbott is abhorrent. And that he deserves our respect."
The Davis campaign pointed out that O’Keefe was convicted in 2010 for their undercover investigation of U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-Louisiana, when they entered real property belonging to the United States under false pretenses.
Others may also remember O'Keefe from a video he shot posing as a "pimp" at a 2008 ACORN meeting.
Reacting to the release of the video, Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott writes:
"The content of the video denigrating the disabled is unworthy of our great state. Despite the distraction, I will continue my efforts to help all Texans rise in life and achieve their dreams. I will be a Governor who fights for for all Texans – for children, small business owners, families, and entrepreneurs – a Texas that includes all."

O'Keefe promised similar secretly recorded videos in the coming months:
"I've got over 200-hours of footage," he said.
