The San Antonio Independent School District is down to two finalists for the superintendent's position.
SAISD's Board of Trustees has selected Pedro Martinez, Superintendent in Residence for the Nevada Department of Education, and Scott Muri, Deputy Superintendent of Academics for Fulton County Schools in Atlanta, Georgia.
Board President Ed Garza said the nationwide search produced almost 40 very qualified candidates. He says the finalists have strong track records in results-driven leadership.
The SAISD Board will hold a special meeting On May 4, to select the next superintendent.
