The Collins Garden Book Club will discuss David Grann's novel, The Wager.

On January 28, 1742, a dilapidated vessel made of patched wood and cloth washed ashore in Brazil. Months later, another ship landed on the coast of Chile. All the crew members were from His Majesty's ship, the Wager, and each had a different story to share.

Curious about the critters crawling and flying through your garden? Join Monarch Joint Venture staff for a lively and informative session on identifying the insects and invertebrates most commonly found in green spaces. Learn how to tell a beetle from a bug, a moth from a butterfly, and even what makes an insect an insect in the first place.

Interested in writing? Come and join our older adult writing group, where a gathering of beginner, intermediate, and long-term writers meet to practice, listen, and encourage one another in telling stories through memoir, flash story or poetry.

Meets the first and third Wednesdays of the month with exception of closures and holidays. This program is intended for those 55+.

Join us for Great SA: Puro San Antonio. Featuring The Conservation Society of San Antonio in conversation with TPR's Marian Navarro about NIOSA favorites!

TPR's 2026 Fiesta Medal will be available for purchase at the event ($12). This event is free and open to the public.

Artpace Presents the Russell Hill Rogers San Antonio Sessions featuring Opera San Antonio!

Join Opera San Antonio at Artpace on Wednesday, April 15th, from 6-8 PM for Cocktails & Conversation—a fun, insider preview of OSA’s upcoming production of The Barber of Seville.

At sunset, mix and mingle with the stars of the opera on Artpace’s newly renovated rooftop terrace. Then enjoy an intimate performance as cast members share selections from the opera, while E. Loren Meeker, OSA’s Executive Director, leads an engaging conversation with the audience and the artists about the opera’s themes. Guests can enjoy a cash bar plus exclusive access to members of the creative team for a truly behind-the-scenes evening.

This event is free and open to the public with registration, and free parking is available at 513 N Flores. Please note, space is limited; all guests must register individually to secure their spot.

Catch the Fun with River Rodeo!
A community-wide fishing challenge hosted by the San Antonio River Authority and San Antonio River Foundation in partnership with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Fin Addict Angler Foundation. The event invites anglers tolog their catches, compete on live leaderboards, win prizes, and support real fisheries science while enjoying outdoor river adventures.

River Rodeo combines outdoor recreation with citizen science by allowing anglers to log species, size, and general location data to support fisheries research and river management. Participants can track progress on live leaderboards, compete in multiple categories, and remain eligible for prizes and raffles throughout the challenge.
