Embark on a delightful adventure navigating the museum’s 1.4 acre campus and 14 permanent galleries. Full STEAM Ahead: Hands-On EducationFamilies and visitors are also invited to learn about the American West in the Briscoe’s monthly education series, “Full STEAM Ahead” during Locals Day. Work together and engage in hands-on, STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics- learning experiences. The education program features hands-on activities and workshops all ages will enjoy every first Sunday of the month during Locals Day, 1 – 3 PM.
The Bugs, Bikes, & Botany: Nature Adventure Kit Program invites families to experience the Mission Reach from a whole new angle—a bug’s-eye view! Brought to you by the San Antonio River Foundation, BiblioTech and San Antonio BCycle, with support from PeopleForBikes and the Better Bike Share Partnership, this program is your ticket to a wilder side of San Antonio, where each bike ride introduces you to both our city’s unique nature and the perks of using BCycle, San Antonio’s bikeshare system.
Families are invited to join the Briscoe and learn about how explorers used a compass to find direction.
After a short presentation, families will be able to create their own compass! This family program is great for all ages and all are welcome to participate.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Huapango! presented by the Heart of Texas Concert Band featuring Mariachi Gallos de Oro and Alamo City Ballet Folklorico. This concert features the classics of a concert band and the tradional Mariachi music and blends the two together in an evening celebrating culture, community and history! Admission is FREE, a $10 donation is suggested to continue supporting the arts in the San Antonio Community.
