Lone Star Gallery (formerly Dock Space Annex) is featuring San Antonio based artists: Adrian De La Cruz, Nia Jaramillo, Gilbert Martinez, Gloria Chavera Ramirez, Rubio, and Uri Whitehead in conjunction with the city of San Antonio’s Xicanx Month, a city-wide celebration commemorating the Chicano Arts Movement.

Adrian De La Cruz is a San Antonio painter and muralist. Nina Jaramillo is a painter and poet born and raised on the Southside of San Antonio. Born and raised in San Antonio, Gilbert Martinez’s work is heavily influenced by his surroundings and heritage as he combines illustration, screen printing and painting to create works on wood and paper. Local Mexican American artist and Art educator, Gloria Chavera Ramirez draws inspiration from discrimination she experienced while working in the fields as a child. Her artwork reflects personal memories and life experiences that blend authentic cultural roots with touches of humor to celebrate Xicana heritage. Gallery owner, arts organizer, mentor, and established artist are all the different roles that Rubio has accomplished. Rubio is a Contemporary Chicano Artist, San Antonio born and raised in the West Side. Rubio's work illustrates personal experiences and life events as a Chicano artist. Uri Whitehead is a multidisciplinary artist based in San Antonio, Texas, working across painting, relief printmaking, and metal sculpture. Uri’s practice explores personal experience, cultural memory, and emotional reflection.

Opening Reception is August 9th, 2025 from 6-9pm as part of the Second Saturday Artwalk in the Lone Star Art District. 107 Lone Star Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78204.
