The Battered Women and Children’s Shelter is joining hands with Painter Dr. Carola Salvi, UT Austin Neuroscience Professor and artist, to bring to San Antonio a unique and exclusive art exhibit. She has titled her collection “The Power of the Other Hand”, her artistic response to the abuse of women. Paintings depict the emotional expressions in survivors of domestic violence in a vibrant, luminous and powerful background. The exhibit also includes works by European and American painters, among them, well known Dax Norman, another UT Austin Professor. Please join us on May 20th, at 6:00 pm, at the Witte Museum, Prassel Auditorium for an evening of art, friendship and conversations. The participating painters have committed to donating a portion of the art sale proceeds to support the mission of The Battered Women and Children’s Shelter.
