SA Women’s Hall of Fame Nomination Deadline Sept. 30
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The search is on for extraordinary women to be inducted into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame Class of 2023. Sept. 30 is the deadline to nominate women in more than a dozen categories including Agriculture and Ranching, Public Service, Volunteerism, Education, Athletics, Creative Arts, Health Professions, Science, Business, Military, Communications and Law.
Nominees must reside in Bexar, Atascosa, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Medina or Wilson counties.
Nomination packets and guidelines for submitting them are available at http://www.sawomenshalloffame.org. The San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame Selection Committee will carefully evaluate the applications based on consideration of the mission to honor outstanding women for their service and contributions to our community and for helping other women. Questions should be submitted to First Vice President Doris Slay-Barber at 210-215-6036.
“There are many extraordinary women in our community who have made tremendous contributions to the San Antonio area. We’re urging residents to submit nominations and help us fulfill our mission of recognizing and honoring these deserving women,” said Slay-Barber.
Honorees will be inducted at a fundraising gala in March.
“The other important part of our mission is to provide scholarships for young women who are pursuing a college education.”
The San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame was founded in 1984 with 53 inductees and the nonprofit organization has grown to more than 490. The prestigious group includes WNBA Coach Becky Hammon, Maj. Gen. Angela Salinas (Ret), catering legend Rosemary Kowalski, Tejano music star Dr. Patsy Torres, former State Sen. Leticia Van de Putte, KENS TV anchor Deborah Knapp, Grammy winner Vikki Carr, retired Chief Justice of Texas 4th Court of Appeals Sandee Bryan Marion, Live Oak Mayor Mary M.
