Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the San Antonio RoadRunners, and the 20th running of the SARR Prickly Pear in 2023! This RRCA 50K Southern Regional Championship Race offers 50K, 15K, and 5K distances run on the natural trails of McAllister Park.
Start Times/ Course Cutoff - 50K starts at 6am and will run three 10.34 mile loops. 15K starts at 8am and is one 9.36 mile Loop. 5K is 3.38 miles and starts at 8:30am. All distances start and finish at same location. Course Cut-Off time is 4pm (10 hours). 50K participants MUST start their 3rd and final loop before 12:45pm.
RRCA Southern Regional 50K Championship Race Details - The SARR Prickly Pear 50K is now a RRCA Championship race. All you have to do is register for the 50K distance to be eligible for the RRCA Championship Awards — awards will be given for Open Male/Female; and 1st place 40-49 Male/Female; 50-59 Male/Female; 60-69 Male/Female; and Open Challenged Athlete Male/Female.
50K has a designated Aid Station and bag drop ran by the SARR Walk2Run5K Team located at the start/finish line. This station will be fully stocked with human support, and a bounty of salty/sweet snacks to include, but not limited to Wildway granola, warm cheese quesadillas, M&M’s, pickles, variety of potato chips, cookies, sodas, Crazy Water, and Gatorade. 50K runners also have access to 3 other Crazy Water/Gatorade pouring stations along the 10.33 mile looped course. 50K runners who complete the race will receive a finishers medal, 50K finishers trucker hat, and 50K car window sticker.
Race Details:
The race is chip-timed, you must wear a bib on the front of your shirt.
Awards to Top 3 Overall and Masters M/F in all three distances. Sorry there are no age group awards.
Finishers medal for everyone who crosses the finish line! 50K Runners who cross the finish line receive a finishers hat and car sticker. Race results and photos will be posted at www.saroadrunners.com
No dogs or strollers allowed on the course; this is a trail run.
