The 80|20 Foundation has partnered with Legacy Park and Centro to bring you PARK(ing) Day on Main Ave between Houston and Travis Streets. 80|20 Foundation provided each participating organization up to $1k to fabricate and/or program a metered parking space. Attendees will see many different concepts from Gensler X Alpha Millwork, Geekdom, The Down Market X UXD, Artpace X 5050 Photo booth, Labkids, and ActivateSA X Live2Ride. TINT by Filestack will be activating in Legacy Park. In past years, parking spaces have been converted into an imagination playground, mini-golf course and a display of the Monarch butterfly migration. This year, event goers can expect to see activations that highlight our tech and entrepreneurial community through co-working, cycling, interactive art activations, and more! Parklet activations on Main Ave will run 10am to 7pm and on Broadway from 10am to 3pm. An After Party hosted by Pinkerton's BBQ will be from 7pm to 9pm in Legacy Park and will include live music on the lawn and drink specials. San Antonio held its first PARK(ing) Day in 2013 and has been a partnership tradition between AIA San Antonio and the South Texas Section of ASLA for many years. We are excited to amplify their efforts with another pop-up series of parklets on Main Ave. This event is free and open to the public.On-site restroom trailer, bike racks and free parking provided.
