Monarch Butterfly & Pollinator Festival

Monarch Butterfly & Pollinator Festival

The Texas Butterfly Ranch is proud to present the fifth annual Monarch Butterfly & Pollinator Festival. All events are FREE and open to the public! The Festival moves online this October with programming designed to honor the memories of family, friends and loved ones lost to COVID-19 and social injustice in 2020. The Festival will unfold October 1 – 29, during peak monarch migration season, with virtual presentations, workshops, teacher training, the delivery of “caterpillar condos” to Title 1 schools, and the construction of a Dia de la Memoria altar at Confluence Park. Our virtual presentations include: Nature's Best Hope with NYTimes bestselling author Doug Tallamy, Pajaros as Pollinators with wildlife biologist and cofounder of Black Birder's Week Danielle Belleny, The Truth About Bats & COVID-19 with The Bat Man of Mexico Rodrigo Medellín, and Bee My Honey with chef Elizabeth Johnson of Pharm Table and master beekeeper Cecile Parrish of Eco Centro. Through our Altar Project and Memorial Monarch Release of butterflies tagged in the names of those lost during this year, we hope to provide a small gesture of hope and healing to the San Antonio community. Visit our website to see and register for our full lineup of free events!
