Join us for an afternoon of free, hands-on art-making activities designed and inspired by the Contemporary’s exhibiting artists. This Family Saturday, join us for workshops designed by Unmooring artist Brittany Ham and The Direct Path artist, Michael Velliquette whose work will be on view through September 3, 2023. Come by, have fun, and make artwork before school starts again!
This Family Saturday we are delighted to partner with disABILITYsa to make our event more accessible. The mission of disABILITYsa is to educate, advance, and engage individuals with disabilities by building connections, exchanging information, creating opportunities, and strengthening our disability community in the greater San Antonio area.
DisABILITYsa will be offering the following services:
Universal Changing Space with a manual hoyer lift
Adaptive tools and supplies for artist workshops
Access to digital media in ASL
Sensory station with noise-canceling headphones and fidget items
Family Saturday is a free, all-ages afternoon for exploring art through artist-designed activities and workshops. Support for Family Saturday at the Contemporary at Blue Star is generously provided by the King William Association and Ricos.
