Animalis Fabula Film Festival Announces Exciting Lineup for #AniFab24
San Antonio, TX (November 7, 2024): The Animalis Fabula Film Festival (#AniFab24) is thrilled to unveil its captivating lineup of films for its upcoming event in San Antonio. Taking place November 29-30 at the AMC Theatre RiverCenter Mall, #AniFab24 will showcase a diverse selection of stories that celebrate the human-animal bond and explore critical human / animal issues.
This year's festival features over 30 films, including narratives, documentaries, and animated shorts, from filmmakers around the globe. Highlights include:
"Dolphin Summer" (Texas Premiere): A heartwarming family film about a young woman who discovers her passion for marine conservation filmed in San Antonio and this premiere will have the filmmakers in attendance, including Stone Oak native and now LA producer / actress Kyliegh Nikkels, and former San Antonio based director Robin Conly
"The Animal Thing" (Texas Premiere): A compelling documentary exploring the life of animal rights pioneer Dr. Andrew Linzey of the Oxford Center for Animal Ethics. Adam & Dr Clair Linzey are also in attendance and presenting an animal ethics in media workshop on Saturday morning.
"Sympawnies" (USA Premiere & Live Performance): Renowned Israeli musical artist Noam Oxman will create unique animal portraits using musical notation and will perform live before the awards ceremony.
“Watson” (Special Screening): Lesley Chilcott’s deep dive into the psyche of famed Whale Warrior and Eco Pirate, Captain Paul Watson, currently sitting in a Greenland jail.
“PotenDogs” (Texas Premiere): Episode 1 of AniFab Festival Director Tom McPhee’s English Language adaptation of the Korean smash-hit animated 12 episode series.
"Beyond the Herd" (San Antonio Premiere): Michelle Fenn’s (Filmmaker in attendance) story of Mexican-American equestrians Amber and Isidro Interweaving the rhythms of daily life on the ranch and wild horses on the range.
All of the movies listed here have filmmakers in attendance with nearly 20 filmmakers in attendance from other states or countries during AniFab.
There are many Texas premieres with some filmmakers traveling from as far away as Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
