San Antonio To Host First In Governor's Women Business Forum Series
The Governor’s office is joining in the effort to help Texas women succeed in their entrepreneurial efforts with a series of Women’s Business Forums throughout the state. The first is in San Antonio this Wednesday, and is co-hosted by the Alamo Area Council of Governments.
AACOG Regional Director Gloria Vasquez says women will get specific advice on running a business from successful women entrepreneurs.
"One of our award winners is a woman-owned business who is in contracting and construction. And that’s really a nontraditional role. So I can see that that would be something that say a woman who wants to open a business in a nontraditional role might have some challenges," Vasquez says.
She went on to say they're planning these different forums throughout the state to again motivate, women business owners, to improve their skills, again their resources and their networking opportunities.
Awards for Small Business Owners will be given at the conference.
The Governor’s Business Forum for Women runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Oblate School of Theology.
