Luminaria Looks For New Executive Director

Kathy Armstrong has led Luminaria since 2015. But now, the San Antonio nighttime arts festival is looking for a new Executive Director.

Armstrong will leave the organization on June 27, according to a press release.

"I've had 5 wonderful years with Luminaria, working with the artists and community in San Antonio, but it was just time for me to make a change in my life," she said.

She will work with the board of directors as it begins to look for a new director in August. As to her work plans, she hasn't yet decided.

Before becoming the organization's executive director, Armstrong served as curator in 2011 and associate artistic director in 2013.

Luminaria highlights contemporary arts in performance, dance, multimedia and other disciplines, one night each year.

This year's event was originally scheduled for November 14 but was canceled because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
