This weekend you can enjoy a pops concert that's like a bouquet of different Broadway hits. You can take a musical tour of the dark side of the moon. Then you can experience violin and piano in a cave, with bats overhead. The Weekend is here, and there’s plenty to do.
First off, the Tobin Center is epicenter for the big sounds of the San Antonio Symphony, and Jenna Jernigan said it's going to be fun.
“We're doing Masters of Musical Theater, which is going to be a compilation of many different very high level and very beloved Broadway composers and some of the great stuff they put on stage,” she said. “And we're kinda putting it all together for one bite-size show where you get to enjoy a lot of different things.”
It's a pops concert full of songs that most people will know and love.
“We're doing everything from Andrew Lloyd Webber, Gershwin to Sondheim to Kander and Ebb's Cabaret, but also we have some great vocalists joining our incredible orchestra,” Jernigan said.
Associate Conductor Noam Aviel is conducting tonight and tomorrow night.
"She's just really excited, she's got such a wonderful back-n-forth with the audience and the musicians so we're really excited to have her on stage to do this incredibly diverse show," she said.

Then on Saturday night, Steve Monisterie says the Majestic Theatre is going to rock.
People everywhere really like Pink Floyd music," he said.
No, the band hasn't re-formed, but their music lives on in the Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular. Monisterie's been doing and re-doing this show since 1986.
"We always update the show every year with new technology that's come out,” he said. “This show here coming up at the Majestic will be the first showing of our production. From start to finish everything is brand new."
The laser experience is all new, but the music is tried-n-true.
"The first half of the show is the complete Dark Side of the Moon,” Monisterie said. “And then the second half of the show, we call it The Best of Floyd. It's got a lot of The Wall in it. And then Animals, and more the older Floyd mixed with the 1980s version of Floyd. The second half rocks, big time."
He says the audience sings along and it's big fun for all.
"It's almost like Rocky Horror Picture Show meets Pink Floyd. They'll watch the show in the 3D glasses that we give out."
That's on Saturday night.

Then on Sunday evening go subterranean for a concert from Duo Dramatique.
"It is a violin and piano ensemble. We are based in Houston," said Violinist Dominika Dancewicz. She said descending the Cave Without A Name's 120 steps into the Throne Room prepares you for what's coming.
“Yes. And I think that's creating that reward at the very end. And suddenly you enter this amazing, huge space with formations with a beautiful light here and there," Dancewicz said.
Concerts are held in the cave's largest room, and sometimes there are tiny guests.
"We actually have played music when the bats were flying over our heads!" she said.
In between selections they give context and backstories to each song.
"We often receive comments about how engaging and enriching these conversations are to our listeners," she said.
Cave Without a Name is 11 miles northeast of Boerne.
