TPR Presents Third Annual Silver Solutions

Texas Public Radio presents Silver Solutions, a free community event for seniors and their caregivers on Saturday, April 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the UT Medicine Medical Arts and Research Center (MARC) located at 8300 Floyd Curl.

At Silver Solutions, Texas Public Radio connects the community with dozens of local resource facilitators that will help seniors maintain their health, their financial resources, their faculties, their passions and their independence for as long as they can safely do so.

Seniors, their adult family members, elder caregivers and professionals who assist this portion of the population will have the chance to interact with numerous elder care providers all in one setting.

Seventy organizations will be exhibiting information about Life Enrichment, Residential Options, Caregiving at home, Planning Ahead and the availability of Community Support Services.

Event attendees may also receive confidential advice from UT Medicine San Antonio and Barshop Institute physicians in the fields of: Geriatric medicine, Heart, Eye and Joint Health, Aging Research and more, along with experts from Adult Protective Services, the San Antonio Police Department, AACOG and Social Security Administration.

Memory care experts from the Alzheimer’s Association will also take part in the Ask the Expert sessions. Sign up for these one-on-one meetings will be available at the event.

Silver Solutions 2013 is sponsored in part by hosting sponsor UT Medicine and Anchor sponsors AACOG’s Alamo Service Connection and the Barshop Institute at the UT Health Science Center.

In addition to the Venue and Anchor sponsors, this event is made possible by partnerships with K.T. Whitehead – Certified Elder Law Attorney, HealthSouth RIOSA, Care Improvement Plus and The Towers at Park Lane.
