Update:UT's Board of Regents is scheduled to meet this morning to consider whether to release investigative records to the Texas Legislature.
Texas lawmakers have been requesting the release of emails and other documents in a public standoff raising tension between the Capitol and the regents.
Original Story: The University of Texas System Board of Regents will hold a special meeting Thursday morning to discuss several hot button issues that have raised tensions between Regents and lawmakers at the state Capitol.
Regents are expected to discuss what kind of documents and emails the board should release to the Attorney General as part of an investigation into the relationship between the UT Law School and the Law School Foundation.
The investigation comes after the program had already been reviewed internally by the UT System. The board had voted to have an external audit conducted, but lawmakers said that was a waste of money and the Attorney General should conduct the review instead.
The board is also expected to discuss how the proposed budget in the Texas House might impact the board in the future. Last week, the House approved an amendment to its budget that reduced the Board's power and funding.
