San Antonio is rich with a history of hops and barley. The city is seeing a craft beer revival, but its German settlers and natural spring water made it a hub of beer production early on. There were brew pubs so popular in this town that they had to build hotels around them, writes Travis Polling and Jeremy Banas in their new book "San Antonio Beer." Polling and Banas are serving up the history of the Alamo City by the pint and exploring the importance of the suds to the development of the city.
