The Source: Is Paid Parental Leave Coming? Maybe.

Over the past two weeks leading tech companies like Netflix, Microsoft and  have expanded their paid parental leave programs. Netflix went so far as to offer unlimited paid time off for parents in their child's first year, but only for its technology employees. The offer didn't extend to its distribution center workers.

The United States is the only industrialized nation that doesn't mandate some form of paid leave for its employees. Studies have shown that in addition to gains in the job prospects of women–whose career's often suffer from child rearing–there are many health and well-being benefits for parents and children.
