The Source: Fiesta Through The Years

Fiesta Commission

The  history of Fiesta continues this week. The 124-year-old San Antonio tradition has changed but only little when compared to the dramatic changes to the surrounding city.

We talk with Lewis Fisher about Fiesta, a changing San Antonio and more.

The founder of Maverick Publishing has been telling the story of San Antonio for nearly 20 years. His latest book, "American Venice: The Epic Story of San Antonio's River" (Trinity University Press 2014) charts the Works Project Administration's design and implementation of the original river walk, and how it has evolved into a center of culture and commerce in San Antonio.

Guest:

  • Lewis Fisher, founder of Maverick Publishing and author of several books about San Antonio.
