Early voting starts today in the special election for Texas House District 124

When former Mayor Julian Castro left his position for a seat in President Obama's cabinet, he set a series of political dominoes falling with several resignations and special elections.

Tens of candidates, two appointments in the city council, and three vacancies in the Texas Legislature later we are nearly to the final domino. A special election scheduled for March 31st to fill Jose Menendez's seat in House District 124 is all that remains. Menendez won a special election for Texas Senate District 26 seat.

A four-person field of Democrats join us to talk about how they think they can contribute to the 84 Texas Legislature.

Guests:

  • Nathan Alonzo, fire fighter who runs communications for the San Antonio Fire Fighters Association
  • Delicia Herrera, former city council member and general contractor
  • Ina Minjarez, attorney
  • David Rosa, independent insurance agent
