The Source: Public Sees Details Of Hwy. 281 Toll Roads

Washington State Dept of Transportation / http://bit.ly/RMOXdV

Last week 350 people packed a public meeting showing the details of the expansion plans of Highway 281 north of 1604

The designs showed the addition of both toll and non-toll roads, including a segment where all additional lanes are tolled. The Stone Oak corridor of U.S. 281 North ranks 28th in the state's 100 most congested roadways, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

Many residents have questioned the need for toll roads in San Antonio, which is the only large city in the state without them. TxDOT said the tolls are needed to fund the projects themselves. Road funding has been a topic of contention in Austin and across the state, and a constitutional amendment will be voted on in November to help fund roads.

Tolls are coming to San Antonio, how will it impact you? Will you change your driving behavior to avoid it?
