Why Mexican American Studies is Coming to More Texas Schools

There’s a debate in states such as Arizona, California and Texas about ethnic studies in public schools. Last month the Texas State Board of Education decided to leave it up to local school districts to develop and offer classes like Mexican American studies or not.

But state officials did show some support and put out a call for textbooks. With that decision News 88.7 Education Reporter Laura Isensee  takes a closer look at a Mexican American studies class in Houston.
