Which Democratic Candidate Will Voters Choose To Represent Bexar County Precinct 2?

Courtesy of the candidates.

Two Democratic candidates are running for the Precinct 2 seat on Bexar County Commissioners Court. Queta Rodriguez is challenging incumbent Justin Rodriguez and with no Republicans in the race, winner takes all.

For 30 years the office was held by the late Paul Elizondo, who died unexpectedly in December 2018. The following month, Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff appointed Justin Rodriguez, then a Texas state representative for House District 125, to fill the vacant seat. Rodriguez also previously held a position on the San Antonio City Council.

Queta Rodriguez, a former Marine, served as Bexar County Veterans Service Officer and challenged then nine-time incumbent Paul Elizondo for the Commissioners Court job in 2018. Today, Rodriguez serves as a regional director for a national nonprofit that helps veterans transition into civilian careers.

Both candidates are longtime public servants with impressive resumes. Where do they stand on issues facing Bexar County and residents of Precinct 2? Who will voters choose to fill the seat?
