The San Antonio Spurs opened their home at the AT&T Center to the latest voter registration effort on Tuesday.
Approrpriate to the COVID-19 era, the attendees lined up in their cars, and masked workers walked down the long lines to speak with them.
The Spurs teamed up with the nonpartisan organization MOVE Texas to get San Antonians registered before the Oct. 5 deadline. More than 60 MOVE workers and arena staffers assisted the attendees, who received a special Spurs t-shirt for participating.
"I think we’re seeing so many people in the NBA and across different sports and culture using their platforms at this moment because they know it is so critical that everyone makes their voice heard," said MOVE Texas Communications Director Charlie Bonner.
