An employee of the Alon Market H-E-B on Northwest Military Highway has tested positive for COVID-19, the store reported this weekend.

A news release from H-E-B explained the employee last worked at the location on June 5. H-E-B did not say when the worker tested positive.

The statement added that the store has been disinfected several times since then and all employees who may have been exposed by contact have been notified.

At least a half-dozen other H-E-B workers have tested positive at stores in New Braunfels-San Antonio region since May.

Earlier this week, the grocery chain expanded its temporary hours of operation. Most H-E-B stores will open at 7 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. until further notice. Central Market stores are open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
