The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District is notifying the community of a level III “heat outlook.”  Level III indicates a sustained heat index between 90 and 105 degrees Fahrenheit for two consecutive days.

With ongoing showers and high humidity levels, Metro Health reminds the community to take precautions against increasing heat, including proper hydration and protection from the sun.  Additionally, people should check on their neighbors, especially the elderly, children or those with special needs, to ensure access to heat relief and hydration.

Sunstroke, heat cramps or heat exhaustion are possible health effects resulting from this heat level and heat stroke is likely with prolonged exposure.
