Female Boot Camp Instructor Sentenced at Lackland

Eileen Pace

Update: (May 2, 3:20 p.m.) Allen was sentenced to three months confinement, reduction to the grade of E-3 (Airman First Class) and hard labor without confinement for 30 days.

Allen's is the 18th completed courts-martial in the ongoing Lackland sex scandal involving military training instructors.

Update: (May 2, 8:55 a.m.) Staff Sgt. Emily Allen pleaded guilty Wednesday to a sexual relationship with one male trainee, attempting to develop a sexual relationship with a second male trainee, and of developing personal friendships with two female trainees.

On Wednesday morning the military judge presiding considered a defense motion to dismiss the charges based on unlawful command influence.

The defense said commanders were feeling the pressure to prefer charges against training instructors, but later that afternoon the judge denied the motion.

Allen now faces sentencing.

Original Post: (April 30) Staff Sergeant Emily J. Allen faces a special court-martial Wednesday for alleged violations under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Allen’s case was referred to court-martial after an Article 32 evidence hearing earlier this year which detailed alleged sexual relationships with two male technical training students, as well as personal friendships with two female tech school students.

All of the incidents are alleged to have occurred between April and September of 2011.  None of the trainees served directly under the accused.

Allen is a former basic training instructor who was reassigned to the 59th Dental Training Squadron at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center, after allegations of misconduct were raised against her.

A special court-martial is often referred to as a misdemeanor proceeding.
