Voters went to the polls Tuesday to select a winner in the runoff for the Texas House District 124 seat.
With 2,439 ballots cast, or less than three percent of registered voters, Ina Minjarez defeated Delicia Herrera with 55 percent of the vote.
The House seat became available when José Menéndez was elected to the Texas Senate in another special runoff election.
Minjarez will be able to represent San Antonio's West side for the final weeks of this legislative session. She will serve the remainder of the term that runs through 2016.
