Todos Agua III: A Week for Water, Tradition, Art, and Community.

Todos Agua III: A Week for Water, Tradition, Art, and Community.

The Esperanza Peace and Justice Center and Creative Director Azul Barrientos are proud to announce the return of Todos Agua III, San Antonio’s third annual water festival, taking place from March 21 to March 28.

As Texas faces growing drought, industrial expansion, and mounting pressure on rivers, aquifers, and the communities that depend on them, we bring you Todos Agua III, San Antonio’s third annual gathering dedicated to water, culture, and community dialogue.

Todos Agua III takes place March 21–28. Throughout the week, elders, activists, artists, and community members gather to contemplate our relationship with water through conversation, shared reflection, art, and ancestral traditions.

In a time of ecological uncertainty and social change, the gathering creates space to remember how communities have long lived with water and how those traditions continue to guide us today.

Opening Community Gatherings - March 21 and 22.
The gathering begins with conversations on the history of Texas waters, from the springs that sustained Indigenous peoples and early communities to present struggles over aquifers, industrial expansion, and environmental justice.
The opening day features a conversation with Juan Mancias, Tribal Chair of the Carrizo/Comecrudo Tribe of Texas, whose decades of work defending sacred sites and waterways ground the dialogue in the living realities of this region.

The following day, community members from the Data Center Action Coalition, organizing around proposed data centers in San Marcos, will also join the conversation.

Conversations Across Territories - March 24, 26, and 27.
Midweek gatherings connect San Antonio with voices from other territories through virtual conversations, teachings, and music. Guests include Tata Kajkan Felipe Mejía Sepet, and Excy Guardado, who will share perspectives rooted in Mayan traditions.

The week also includes a virtual workshop and concert with Chilean folklorist Julián Herreros Rivera, whose work bridges traditional song, poetry, and contemporary reflection.

Closing gathering at the River - March 28
The week concludes with a guided walk and writing workshop, followed by a riverside offering through music, movement, and shared presence at Branckenridge Park (Joske’s Pavilion).
