This is Our House: Installation Performance by Haus of Glitter
Celebrate the opening of Whitfield Lovell: Passages with a powerful live performance installation by the internationally renowned Haus of Glitter. This free, all-ages, all-gender event begins outdoors on the sculpture terrace and progresses indoors, concluding at the exhibition entrance.
This is Our House will activate the themes of the exhibition, exploring African American history, identity, and memory. After the performance, guests are invited to view the exhibition and experience its powerful storytelling.
In collaboration + partnership with the San Antonio African American Community Archive & Museum (SAAACAM), this celebration honors heritage, memory and community. This site-specific performance installation, initially developed with social practice artist Jess Brown, has been previously shared at The RISD Museum (Providence, RI), Cedarhurst Center for the Arts (Mt. Vernon, IL), The Providence HONK! Festival, and in front of the former home of Esek Hopkins, commander of the slavery ship “Sally” in cooperation with the City of Providence.
