The Texas Exes Fredericksburg Chapter announces its annual Horns Up To YOU!! member appreciation event, scheduled for Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 1:00 p.m.—3:00 p.m. at Pavilion 4 at the Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park in Fredericksburg.

This year’s event will once again feature a chili cookoff, where up to 10 cooks can make any kind of chili to compete for cash prizes. Cooks will be anonymous and winners will be voted on by those in attendance. Every attendee will receive 5 tickets and can taste as many chilis as they want, using the tickets to vote for their favorite or favorites. Votes will be counted at 2:00 p.m. and the winners announced. First place receives $150, second place receives $100 and third place receives $75. All cooks will receive a $50 reimbursement to cover costs of ingredients.

The Chapter will provide sides, including Fritos, cornbread, onions, cheese, and UT cupcakes and other goodies for dessert. Attendees can serve themselves a bowl or two of their favorite chilies along with beer, wine, tea, and water, also provided by the Chapter. Take-home containers will be available for $5 each.

In addition to the chili cookoff, Horns Up To YOU!! will also feature a UT Swag Swap. Members can bring any gently used but no longer needed items to share, such as books, jewelry, clothing, decorative items, and other memorabilia. Members can take home anything from the Swag Swap, whether they brought something to share or not. The swap is free and members can leave with new UT swag to enjoy!
