Summer Volunteer Opportunities!

Summer Volunteer Opportunities!

Volunteers spend their week with a camper, helping them with personal care needs, and assisting them with activities such as horseback riding, swimming, canoeing, arts & crafts, outdoor cooking, archery, sports & recreation, nature, night activities, and much more! The most rewarding experience at CAMP will be the friendships formed with fellow counselors and campers.

CAMP provides a thorough orientation and continuous training for this program. CAMP’s training teaches volunteers how to work with individuals who have medical conditions or disabilities - including child development, hygiene and personal care, behavior management, medical diagnoses, and CAMP policies and procedures. Training is mandatory for all new and returning volunteers and is a critical piece of our volunteer program. Volunteering at Camp CAMP requires successful completion of training, as determined by CAMP Leadership Staff. As such, Volunteer Counselors are initially accepted for training, and provisionally accepted for volunteering for their assigned session(s). Volunteers can earn up to 99 service hours per successfully completed session.

Please Note: Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age at the time they are volunteering. For individuals who are age 14, CAMP offers a Leader In Training program.

CAMP serves individuals with mild to severe disabilities, with diagnoses such as: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Spina Bifida, visual impairment, hearing impairment, and more. CAMP programs alleviate medical, physical, developmental, social, and intellectual barriers for campers by adapting all activities to allow full participation.
