Years back, author and creator of a technique called Validation Therapy, Naomi Feil came to San Antonio. She reinforced that it is just as important when communicating with persons living with dementia verbally- that our non-verbal signs of communication match the words coming out of our mouth. This presentation will touch upon the stages of dementia and when to bring conversations back to a “reality timeframe” or use Noemi’s technique to validate the person.
