South Texas Showdown

South Texas Showdown

Experience world-class roping while supporting Uvalde's youth! The South Texas Showdown is back for its second year, October 20-26, 2025, at the Uvalde County Fairplex. This week-long roping competition brings together top competitors, including World Champions Haven Meged and Shad Mayfield, for team roping, steer roping, breakaway roping, and tie-down events. The competition also features an Exceptional Rodeo for children with disabilities and concludes with a championship showdown.

Founded by Bart Hutton and Chad Foster Jr. as a 501(c)3 nonprofit, the event directly benefits Uvalde youth programs. In 2024, the inaugural showdown raised over $200,000 for local organizations, including Little League, 4-H, FFA, the Boys & Girls Club and others.

General Admission, Reserved Seating, and Multi-Day Packages available. Journalists can request media passes at fosterfarmandranch@giantnoise.com
