In this presentation, you will get expert advice on how to tell authentic stories full of heart that build trust. Carlos will show examples of how to simplify your message and clearly and consistently communicate the value your organization can offer people. In this session, he will share lessons from his own experiences and those of others to inspire you to live a better story and connect to something bigger than yourself. You will leave the session empowered to share your organization’s story, expand your relationships, and improve your communities.

About our Presenter:

Carlos Maestas believes storytelling is the best way organizations and people can move others to action. He is the founder and chief storysmith at Key Ideas, a Texas-based firm that helps organizations sharpen and share their messages for greater social impact. He has interviewed over 1,000 people and delivered powerful videos that draw in an audience by capitalizing on emotional connection and content.

Since its start 22 years ago, Key Ideas has received 5 Lone Star Emmy nominations. Its work has garnered multiple industry awards and been featured on the British Broadcasting Corporation and Upworthy. He occasionally moonlights as a stand-up comedian, opening once for five-time Emmy award winner and Saturday Night Live alumnus Dennis Miller.

Carlos holds a B.A. in Marketing from The University of Texas at San Antonio and an MBA from the University of Incarnate Word. He leads a workshop called Storytelling That Moves People across the US. His book on storytelling, Mommy Lied to God: Life Lessons in Authentic Storytelling, launched in the summer of 2020 and quickly became an Amazon bestseller.
