This year Hispanic Heritage Month art exhibit at Parman Gallery created by Hispanic artist Mary Carmen, showcases a profound connection to culture, family, and tradition. The exhibit features "Celestial Omen," a striking piece symbolizing resilience and new beginnings; "Tree of Life," a vibrant work in Talavera style celebrating family unity; and "Raíces," a heartfelt portrayal of the artist and her daughters wearing traditional Mexican dresses, emphasizing the importance of roots and heritage. The "Refranes" series brings to life clever and meaningful Spanish sayings, while "Viva la Vida" invites viewers to take photos in front of this large painted wings and share them on social media, embracing Frida Kahlo’s iconic phrase. Additionally, Day of the Dead representations honor this significant celebration in Hispanic culture, which has become a beloved tradition of our city.
