Nature Nurture - A Celebration of the Women of San Antonio

Nature Nurture - A Celebration of the Women of San Antonio

Nature/Nurture is a public art project celebrating the contributions of the women of San Antonio as they help their families and communities to thrive. Over the course of the last year, the artist, Karla Saenz, has facilitated small events in San Antonio, making caracolas (or shells). Each shell created is part of a ritual of mindfulness, in celebration the work of women; they are made from clay, and represent the physical, tangible form and weight of the work supporting families, friends, and communities.

In celebration of International Women's Day, these caracolas will be on display at Confluence Park and Karla will be present to offer a talk and extended discussion about her experience over the course of the project.

The event is family-friendly and free to all!

Project is supported via an artists' grant from the City of San Antonio, and made possible with support from San Antonio River Foundation.
