“Moving for Meagan” is a southwind fields initiative meant to provide our locals with access to healthcare that is sensitive and tailored to them, right here in the comfort of familiar surroundings at the Southwind Local Society! In doing so, we can increase effective communication between our Locals and their providers, and decrease anxiety that prevents many individuals with learning differences from seeking out and/or complying with medical and mental health care. By providing a safe, easy alternative that would allow them to easily access their providers at the Local Society, we not only improve both short and long term health outcomes, but we increase self advocacy and a sense of independence for those we serve.
