Mid-Texas Symphony presents Sibelius’ Second Symphony

Mid-Texas Symphony presents Sibelius’ Second Symphony
Experience the powerful journey from darkness to light by two Nordic composers who were touched by the warmth of the Mediterranean. Danish composer Carl Nielsen depicts the movement of the sun in his Helios Overture, while Jean Sibelius lets his Second Symphony move from darkness to triumph, rendering it a symbol of Finland’s fight for independence. Micah Wilkinson solos in the powerhouse Arutiunian Trumpet Concerto.
