“Labor of Love” An Exhibition by Crystal Rocha
“Labor of Love” An Exhibition by Crystal Rocha
Curator/Artist Statement:
This installation is a reflection with themes related to life and death. My biggest goal in this body of work is to share something tangible with a medium that exists beyond my control. Using a live medium that would require such labor to install is an aspect that pushes my thoughts further- As a child I think back to the actions of my father caring for a lawn that he would describe as a labor of love for us to enjoy. In my young adult years after the loss of him I found using art as a way to connect to understanding this journey. With this solo show I urge the audience to wind down and enjoy all that is my Labor of Love for sharing ideas and feelings to experience a moment to reflect. crustalmath.com
